Congrès étudiant 2025

On October 16 and 17, over 300 people gathered at the Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM) for the 26th CRCHUM Student, Postdoctoral Fellows and Resident Convention.

Organized by the Student and Postdoctoral Affairs team, the event showcased an impressive array of health and biomedical research projects.

The program included oral presentations, scientific posters and discussions on subjects as varied as cystic fibrosis, psychedelic drugs, triple-negative breast cancer and rare diseases.

This annual event, a veritable showcase for young researchers, illustrates the CRCHUM's commitment to supporting excellence in research focused on current health issues and to training the next generation of scientists capable of treating them.

An awards ceremony recognized the quality of the communications and the originality of the projects presented, demonstrating the dynamism and potential of the next generation.

Two workshops to broaden horizons

During the conference, two exclusive workshops were offered to the student community: one to foster collaboration within the CRCHUM, and the other to better understand the transition to the professional world.

In the Interdisciplinary Braindates workshop, participants had the opportunity to propose a collaboration idea to CRCHUM researchers in connection with their own research project. This was a way to break down barriers between areas of expertise and encourage new scientific synergies.

The second workshop offered by The 2nd Lab focused on finding a job after graduating from university. It aimed to lay the groundwork for a personalized and effective job search strategy.

Nearly $9,000 to recognize quality projects

After a performance by three students from Université de Montréal, Nathalie Grandvaux, Associate Scientific Director, Student and Postdoctoral Affairs, hosted the conference awards ceremony, where the winners shared in scholarships ranging from $350 to $1,000.

A total of $8,950 was awarded at the ceremony by Nathalie Beaulieu, Associate CEO, CHUM; Sylvain Baillet, Director of Research and Innovation, CHUM, and Scientific Director, CRCHUM; Chantal Bémeur, Vice-Dean of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal; and Geneviève Dalpé, Program Manager, Fonds de recherche du Québec—Santé.

Congratulations to all the recipients and thank you to our sponsors!
