The Immunopathology Research Theme mobilizes for World AIDS Day
On December 1, we celebrated World AIDS Day. As part of this initiative, research teams from the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) and the CHUM
Research Centre (CRCHUM) have come together to demonstrate their commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
HIV/AIDS research has already saved millions of lives, from controlling the viral load in people living with HIV/AIDS to pushing the boundaries of biomedical knowledge that has facilitated, among many other things, the development of vaccines against COVID. Now is not the time to slow down.
Research enables the training of a strong new generation of scientists who actively contribute to national and international efforts to combat HIV/AIDS in particular, and transmissible infectious diseases in general. Our mission at the CRCHUM is to continue training highly qualified personnel at the master's, doctoral and postdoctoral levels to perpetuate expertise in biomedical research, offering effective therapeutic solutions to current and emerging health care challenges.
It is more important than ever to support research in these areas of strategic importance to health in Canada and around the world.
