The patient who needs immediate assistance should not communicate directly with the researcher. Instead, they should call the doctor’s office or take other appropriate measures, such as going to the nearest emergency service.

Keywords

Research interests

Clinical and basic research into the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations(BAVM) and cerebral ischemia.

Clinical Research:
Principal Investigator for the TEAM study (Trial on Endovascular Aneurysm Management; ISRCTN62758344); www.TEAMstudy.org. TEAM is sponsored by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (IRSC MCT-80799)
Principal Investigator for the PRET study (patients Prone to Recurrence after Endovascular Treatment; NCT00626912); www.PRETstudy.org. PRET sponsored by Microvention Inc./Terumo (Investigator-led; without restriction)
Funding President of the International Consortium of Neuro-Endovascular centers: ICONE (International Consortium of Neuro-Endovascular Centres); www.ICONEtwork.org.
Funding President of the International Consortium of Neuro-Endovascular centers: ICONE (International Consortium of Neuro-Endovascular Centres); HELPS study (Hydrocoil Endovascular Aneurysm Occlusion and Packing).

Local Investigator:
ISAT study (International Subarachnoid Aneurysm Trial) sponsored by the British MRC
CERECYTE study sponsored by Micrus Corp.
ATENA sponsored by the Neuroradiology French Society (SFNR)
ARUBA Study (A Randomised Multicentric clinical trial of Unruptured Brain AVMs) sponsored by the National Institute of Health.

Fundamental Research:
Director of the Interventional Neuroradiology Research Laboratory (NRI): preclinical and clinical research.
The NRI has developed a unique expertise in the construction of aneurysm models and the development of endovascular techniques and new methods to evaluate results.
They also specialize in the study of healing phenomena following endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms: endothelial denudation, beta irradiation, radiofrequency, etc.
Specialization: chirurgical models, biomaterials, histology, inmunohistochemistrys, cell culture, RT-PCR, and zymography.
