Granted by the Fonds de recherche du Québec — Société et culture, the Fonds de recherche du Québec — Santé and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, the $676,887 in funding will enable the researcher and his team (Research theme: Neuroscience) to conduct a longitudinal study of the "Programme de recherche sur l’usage du cannabis à des fins non médicales : prévention et réduction des méfaits".

They will focus on the non-therapeutic use of cannabis among young adults.

Ultimately, the results of the funded project should make it possible to improve knowledge of the effects of cannabis on the health of the Quebec population, support the development of public policies aimed at protecting the health of the population, and improve actions taken to prevent and reduce the harm associated with the use of cannabis.
