Vue sur ma Science 2025 : The public's favourite work revealed

On August 26, 2025, the Université de Montréal’s affiliated hospital research centre (the CRCHUM) community selected Florent Bertrand's artwork, L’hippocampe des profondeurs intestinales as the big winner of the third edition of the Vue sur ma Science contest organized by CRCHUM Student and Postdoctoral Affairs.
Florent Bertrand, a PhD student in Cécile Tremblay's laboratory (immunopathology axis) and author of this artwork, will receive a $250 scholarship for being voted the public's favourite. In the eyes of the CRCHUM community, he stood out among the nine other winning artworks in this edition of the Vue sur ma Science competition.
Two other students also received awards for their artwork : Mariam Choughari, a PhD student in Christine Vande Velde's laboratory (neuroscience axis), received a $500 scholarship for winning the first prize awarded by the competition's evaluation committee. Jade Montpetit, a PhD student in Francis Rodier's laboratory (cancer axis), won the second prize and a $250 scholarship.
The Vue sur ma Science contest is dedicated to images from research conducted in all CRCHUM research themes (cancer, cardiometabolic, innovation hub, imaging and engineering, immunopathology, neuroscience). Among all the participants, six have been selected and put up for sale. All proceeds are then donated to CRCHUM students and trainees through the student committee.
The panel of judges for the photo contest included Isabelle Doré and Hana Maalaoui, respectively interim director and project manager of the Student and Postdoctoral Affairs at CRCHUM, Patrick Legris, patient partner, and André Habib, full professor in the Department of Art History, Film and Audiovisual Media in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Université de Montréal.
