Observational research - TRICCHOME Project

Evolution of cannabis use patterns and their trajectories over two years and associations with health-related outcomes among young people aged 18-24 who consume regularly: the TRICCHOME prospective cohort study.

Eligibility criteria

  • Have access to a smartphone on a daily basis (iOS, Android).
  • Aged between 18 to 24 years old;
  • Residency in the province of Quebec;
  • Regularly consume cannabis for non-medical purposes (on average at least once a week in the last three months).
  • Ability to speak and read French or English;
  • While participating in the study, do not plan or begin treatment for cannabis use disorder (do not wish to receive treatment for CUD).

Involvement required

Over a two-year period

  • On a daily basis, describe episodes of consumption/non-consumption in a digital logbook (TRICCHOME application).
  • Every four months, complete self-reported questionnaires about your health and your level of exposure to public health messages about cannabis products.
  • Once during the study, send a saliva sample to the laboratory by mail for genetic analysis (sequencing test of certain genes).
