Laboratoire Dr Jutras-Aswad – Axe Neurosciences  

The research team specialises in the study of psychoactive substances, mental health and substance abuse. Through clinical trials and observational studies, it aims to develop several innovative interventions to treat mental health and substance use disorders. The successful candidate will be part of an established, internationally renowned team that is frequently consulted by policy makers and other knowledge users. The multidisciplinary team includes project managers, data managers, coordinators and research assistants, psychologists and healthcare professionals, students and patient partners. Centre d’expertise et de collaboration en troubles concomitants (CECTC)

The Centre d'expertise et de collaboration en troubles concomitants (mental health and addiction), or CECTC, was established to support institutions and their teams in implementing and sustaining integrated care and services tailored to the specific needs of people with co-occurring disorders. The CECTC's mandate is to bring together the existing strengths of the University of Montreal's Integrated University Health and Social Services Network in the field of concurrent disorders, both medical and psychosocial, in order to:

  • Highlight the specific needs of patients with concurrent disorders
  • Support institutions and teams in improving the quality and accessibility of care provided to this complex clientele
  • Enable university departments and faculties to benefit from the expertise of the practice community in training future health and social services professionals
  • Enable the clinical practice community to benefit from research-based knowledge.
Responsabilities  
  • Develop and implement an editorial calendar for social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Create popular science content based on ongoing research projects
  • Update and maintain the laboratory's website
  • Help write press releases, newsletters, and scientific dissemination reports
  • Promote scientific activities (events, publications, conferences)
  • Work with researchers to translate scientific results into accessible language
  • Support internal communications (bulletins, posters, presentations)
  • Participate in the organisation of events to disseminate or mobilise knowledge
  • Manage relations with the media and external partners
  • Contribute to the laboratory's branding strategy and visibility
Qualifications
  • Education in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field OR education in health sciences with experience in scientific communications
  • Excellent writing skills in English and French
  • Proficiency in digital tools: Microsoft Suite, Canva, Adobe, CMS (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace)
  • Knowledge of social media and digital trends
  • Strong interest in mental health, addiction or neuroscience research
  • Ability to simplify complex content for different audiences
  • Autonomy, creativity, rigour and initiative
  • Experience in project management or event organisation (an asset)
  • Knowledge of research ethics principles and responsible communication
Status and advantages 
  • Part-time position, 3 days per week or 21 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule and remote work possible
