Research Interests

  • Metabolic transduction system and insulin secretion in pancreatic beta cells.
  • Molecular basis of decompensation of the beta cell in the etiology of type 2 diabetes.
  • Mechanisms of glucolipotoxicity and of the detoxification of excess nutrients.
  • New therapeutic targets for diabetes, obesity and fatty liver.
  • Molecular basis of the metabolic syndrome in particular the study of the role of glycerolipid metabolism in this process.
  • Use of the C-Elegans model to understand the mechanisms that allow resistance to various metabolic stresses.

We use various techniques of biochemistry and molecular biology with in vitro and in vivo approaches. Our group has many collaborations in Montreal, Canada and internationally.
