Job Description

Dr. Simon Turcotte wishes to recruit a laboratory technician within the Cell Production Unit (CPU) (clean rooms) of the CHUM, which develops cell therapies for phase I/II clinical studies. The focus of the CPU is cancer immunotherapy, more specifically the adoptive transfer of anti-tumor T cells with the aim of eliminating cancer by the immune system.

Responsabilities

Under the supervision of the CPU coordinator, the laboratory technician will mainly be required to manipulate, isolate and process lymphocytes from tumors and blood products in order to make a treatment. More specifically, the technician will perform the following tasks:

  • Work in the clean rooms of the CPU in accordance with established procedures.
  • PBMC isolation by ficoll gradient.
  • Lymphocyte isolation by flow cytometry (FACS).
  • Inventory management (administrative tasks).
Qualifications
  • College diploma in biomedical analysis or Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, biochemistry or other related field.
  • Experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a major asset.
  • Autonomy in flow cytometry (FACS).
  • Superior management skills (inventories, documentation, project execution), rigor in the execution of standard procedures and the ability to perform multitasking.
