The CHUM Research Centre is home to several biological material banks for research purposes (biobanks).

Several professionals are available to guide researchers who want to create a new bank or submit projects related to biobank samples.

Note that the use of the biobanks requires users to be aware of certain instructions.


  • Professional management of a secure and dedicated space for the storage of biobank samples
  • Implementation of new biobanks
  • Various storage temperatures: 22°C, 4°C, -20°C, -80°C and liquid nitrogen
  • Removal or addition of biological samples
  • Output management of paraffin blocks and blades for research projects
  • Repatriation of paraffin blocks and blades to a biobank
  • Migration of databases to the ATiM software
