The CHUM Research Centre has an ultra-modern animal facility designed to accommodate several animal species.
The specialized accommodations include facilities for large species, rodents, fish and immunocompromised animals and allows researchers to conduct containment level 2 studies.
Our staff members are committed to maintaining the integrity of the animal model and to ensuring the accuracy of experimental results and the well-being of the animals. Specialized services include:
- maintaining rodent colonies
- quarantining rodents
We also offer support in the development of experimental protocols.
The CHUM Research Centre holds a Certificate of Good Animal Practice from the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC).
All animal use must receive prior approval from the Institutional Animal Protection Committee (CIPA).
