Research Interests

Our research is focused on different aspects of lung epithelial cell physiology, including mechano-sensitive ATP release, purinergic signaling, mucus secretion in cystic fibrosis, and cell volume regulation. In our studies, we use advanced light microscopy imaging techniques, such as total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRF), real-time luminescence imaging of ATP release, and 3D single cell imaging. Our current research collaborations include scientist at McGill University (Canada), University of North Texas (USA), University of Nagoya (Japan), Fudan University in Shanghai (China), Moscow State University (Russia), and Poznan Medical University (Poland).

The Immunopathology Research Theme comprises a group of researchers spanning the basic and clinical research continuum and focusing on the immune/inflammatory processes involved in the disturbance and restoration of homeostasis. These activities are rooted in shared visions regarding explorat…
