The Core Facilities’ Echo is a news section designed to keep research teams, core facilities and services staff and all other members of the CRCHUM community informed.

In this section, you will find information about new acquisitions and services being offered, explanations of innovative techniques and methods, descriptions, etc.

Dates for events and training courses will also be posted here.

Cordélia Cadieux

Cordélia Cadieux

Cordélia is the Assistant Vivarium Manager of the animal facility. She ensures the facility is a suitable environment for all its inhabitants and has been doing so since 2017. She has worked at the animal facility since 2012. Through the Core Facilities’ Echo, she hopes to give the facilities’ unsung heroes more visibility. When she’s not at CRCHUM, she can be found on hiking trails or waterways with her friends and family.

 

Aurélie Cleret-Buhot

Aurélie Cleret-Buhot

Aurélie has been Manager of the cellular imaging core facility since October 2015. She’s the proud mother of 10 microscopes and is passionate about instilling a love of microscopy in all microscope users. She hopes that the Core Facilities’ Echo will allow her to learn more about her colleagues and what they do. Aside from her enthralling job, she enjoys nature and the great outdoors, sharing great moments with friends, listening to music and so many more of life’s small pleasures!

 

Julien Lamontagne

Julien Lamontagne

Julien has worked in the metabolomics core facility since 2012. He is fascinated by metabolism, be it mitochondrial, faecal or plant. He wants to take advantage of this showcase to do activities he enjoys: writing in general and popularizing science in particular.

 

Liliane Meunier

Liliane Meunier

Liliane has been Co-Manager of the molecular pathology core facility since 2013. She is passionate about molecular biology, but also general data. She intends to share her passion with the facilities’ community on the Core Facilities’ Echo. On a personal level, she loves cycling, paddle boarding and cottage life.

 

Junzheng Peng

Junzheng Peng

Junzheng has worked as a Specialist at the small animal phenotyping and imaging core facility since April 2015. He provides training and services for the EchoMRI/Optix-MX2/Skyscan1176 scan and analysis. He also performs surgical telemetry on rats and mice, IR renal surgery, oophorectomy, UUO, etc. He hopes to use this column to learn more about his colleagues and what they do. Alongside his exciting job, he loves nature and the great outdoors, sharing natural photography with his friends, listening to music and so many more of life’s small pleasures! He also likes walking and playing badminton and table tennis.

 

Philippe St-Onge

Philippe St-Onge

Philippe has worked at the cytometry core facility since 2017. From his very first encounter with cytometry, he knew it was what he wanted to do. For him, the Core Facilities’ Echo is a way of learning about other core facilities and developing a new talent: writing. A father of two children, Philippe loves all types of games, be it video games, board games or role-playing games!
