Research Interests

Identification of factors that modulate interindividual variability related to drug response.

The main research themes relate to the roles of the major determinants of the effect of a drug, with particular attention to:

  1. the determinants of drug metabolism and transport in extra-hepatic tissues,
  2. the effects of certain pathological conditions on these determinants and
  3. drug interactions. Hepatic and extra-hepatic drug metabolism by the Cytochrome P450s system.

Impact of disease, such as type 2 diabetes, on metabolic and drug transport capacity.

Pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenetic studies related to these determinants in the effects (therapeutic or toxic) of drugs.

Particular interest in cardiovascular, antidiabetic and antiretroviral drugs.

Develop and generate tools that combine genotypic and phenotypic data allowing a personalized care approach.

These research projects are funded by CIHR, FRQS-INESSS and CFI.

Cardiometabolic

Metabolic diseases, including obesity and diabetes, are major risk factors for the development of several chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, and are the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in Western countries. The research components of this multidisciplinary axis foc…
